Ill Gaiety
by Joella Wadel
I take this walk.
Affection cold, corroded steel—
Company unnecessary—
Solitude an uncanny, joyful occasion.
Long pines and darkening light collude.
White boarded chapel floor
Comforts one pair of feet
With hollow echoed step;
The single stranded organ rages
In music made by my blue fingers.
Joella is a sort of regular soul who drinks poetry, inhales music, and consumes art.
