Happily Ever Before
by Sheila Petre
One summer, my lover made for me
A bicycle built for two.
Oh, the things that man can do!
Romance and luxury, peddling free.
But his mother asked him how he could see
When I sat (wide) in front of him.
Alas for romance.
That was grim.
