Government’s Woe

by Jonah Trubey

Tip and stumble
Human polis;
Man’s great trouble,
Never honest.

Seed of broken,
Not like angels:
“How ought fasten
We thy counsels?”

The men of God
Are lost once more;
Again, they’ve trod
To rule the score.

Can man with flaws
At all be found
To rule with cause
In spirit sound?

Having recently discovered the wondrous art that is poetry, Jonah Trubey, an amateur writer, has taken it upon himself to become an amateur poet as well.
