We’ve lost our word for this
by Eshan Dabak
O You,
Thou is near but distant now.
If I should say thou art so dear,
that closeness is much farther than
if I should say you are so near.
If only You could come so close,
convey my love most intimate,
for God and spouse and best of friends,
Thou tries but cannot quite admit.
Eshan, a lawyer by day, finds his greatest joy in uniting people through music and baked goods. He hails from Plano, Texas, though home for him is wherever he can find a thoughtful friend and meaningful connection.

This! I love it more every time I read it. This is so thought provoking. Theology and language all woven together=)
