Of Deconstruction
by Phoebe Anthus
He who is never shaken by questions,
invites honesty, dismantling
the worn scaffolding that once held
my everything.
I slip slowly from inherited certainty
shedding a soft grief, a quiet gratitude,
as the soul releases
what can no longer bear its weight.
Here, love neither erases
nor exalts story, but opens with a truth
tender enough to embrace
all broken angles and
whole enough to breathe
through them again.
Phoebe Anthus is a stubborn artist with her head not so far into the clouds that she cannot notice the solid, sensible things as well.
